(3BL Media) August 23, 2012 - The Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) thanks the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), for issuing the final rule for implementing Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act[1] on Conflict Minerals. This is a major development that will further help our compliance efforts within the automotive industry.

As AIAG analyzes and evaluates the final rule, we remain committed to collaborating with cross industry partners like EICC-GeSI and to continuing our efforts to pursue the development of necessary infrastructure such as the Conflict Minerals Reporting Platform (developed in collaboration with iPoint), to help supply chain participants source responsibly and meet their reporting requirements.
